Hi! My name is Mrs. Fincher, and this is my 17th year as the librarian at Stonegate Elementary. I am pictured here with visiting author, H.J. Ralles. She has come to our school many times to do workshops with our 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. I have been in education for 25 years, 22 of which I have been lucky enough to be in the library!
Students at Stonegate Elementary check out library books every week in grades K-6, and classes come for library instruction for anything from enjoying a great picture book, to learning the use of QR Codes on iPads, learning about Ruby Bridges, reviewing Character Traits, creating and exploring in our Makerspace or doing a STEM activity such as Hour of Code. Our students love coming to the library and I love having them here!
The mission of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Library Technology Services Department is to be an active participant in every child's education, to empower students and staff to be effective users of ideas and information, and to enrich the district curriculum by providing physical and intellectual access to materials in multiple formats, as we promote an enthusiasm for reading, life-long learning, and prepare our students to achieve in the 21st Century
